REC Doing Good: Occidental Area Health Center Charitable Installation
The WCHC’s Occidental Area Health Center delivers health care to an important cross-section of the Occidental community including elementary age children whose parents cannot otherwise afford the medical care needed to keep them healthy and active in schools; those who are not accepted elsewhere due to HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental illness or addiction; those in the community who lack the financial resources to pay for quality health care, as well as many others. No patient is turned away from West County Health Center for lack of funds.
REC partnered with local REC Certified Solar Professional, Taylor Energy, to install a 15.54 kW solar PV system on the Occidental Area Health Center facility. As part of Taylor Energy and REC’s sustainability and community engagement goals, this system was provided at no cost to the health center.
On October 11th, the Taylor Energy team installed 37 REC Alpha Pure-R 420W panels, paired with Enphase IQ8X-240V microinverters. The health center will save as estimated $543,000 over the next 25 years!
Hannah Raines, REC Marketing Manager comments on the collaboration: “We are honored to partner with Taylor Energy on this amazing project and help make an impact on this community. Sean and his team are an inspiration to the solar industry with their strong philanthropy program. We look forward to continuing to support their efforts!”
